High-Performance Homes: Business Strategies and Technical Skills for Success

September 10, 2018

The Nicor Gas and ComEd residential new construction program will be delivering a half-day training for local home builders on 9/27 at the Gas Technologies Institute in Des Plaines. We are excited to bring Sam Rashkin from the U.S. Department of Energy to keynote the training.

High-Performance Homes: Business Strategies and Technical Skills for Success

Join us for this unique event focusing on new strategies and techniques for successful business models in the residential construction industry. Featured presenters include national expert Sam Rashkin, Chicago-area high performance homes builder Scott Sanders, and regional building consultant and educator Joe Nagan.

  • Sam Rashkin, Chief Architect, U.S. Department of Energy, Buildings Technologies Office and author of Retooling the U.S. Housing Industry

Sam has dedicated his professional life to bringing innovation and building performance to the U.S. housing industry. He’ll make the business case for high performance homes and share insights into the role educated homebuyers play in evolving the housing market.

  • Scott Sanders, President and CEO of BrightLeaf Homes

  • Joe Nagan, Owner, Home Building Technology Services
Experts will share their experiences in the construction process and why exceeding minimum performance requirements is good for business. Focus will be on reducing energy loss from infiltration and selecting efficient systems.

Come and participate in the discussion—ask questions and share your experiences in creating high performance homes. You’ll acquire hands-on skills you can use immediately to maximize your bottom line and build a successful customer base.

BUILDING TOUR: Immediately following the program, attendees are invited for a rare tour of the Gas Technologies Institute campus featuring residential technology demonstrations and high-performance labs.
