SSHBA Awards Scholarships

The recipients of this year’s scholarships are as follows: Cara Corradino – Cara is a sophomore at Marquette University in Milwaukee. She is enrolled in Marquette’s School of Communication where she is working towards a degree in Public Relations. Matthew Franz – Matthew is a senior at St. Ignatius College Prep who will be attending University of Michigan in the fall. Matthew is enrolled in the University of Michigan’s School of Engineering where he plans to major in Civil Engineering. Joseph M. Harris – Joseph is a freshman at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills. Joseph is working towards a degree in Marketing and hopes to become a real estate agent. Stephen A. Harris – Stephen is a senior at Andrew High School in Tinley Park. Stephen has been accepted to the University of Iowa and is thinking of pursuing a career in marketing or advertising. Nicole McShane – Nicole will be attending Arizona State University in the fall where she will major in Communication. Lauren Melfi – Lauren is a freshman at Savannah College of Art and Design where she is pursuing a major in Furniture Design. Alysse Nooner – Alysse attends Trinity Christian College where she is working towards an Education Degree. After earning her degree, Alysee, plans to pursue a degree in Administration. Kevin Radowski – Kevin is currently a business major at Moraine Valley Community College where he is working on his Associates Degree. In the fall Kevin plans to attend DePaul University in Chicago. Luke Stortzum – Luke is a junior at Marian College in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Luke has a major in Management with an emphasis in Human Resources and a minor in Psychology. These Scholarships and other charitable contributions are made possible by numerous events held throughout the year. The SSHBA is committed to the future of the building industry, and the education of their youth. The scholarships were presented by Mr. Henry Coyle at the SSHBA General Membership Meeting held on May 8, 2008 at Gaelic Park, in Oak Forest, Illinois.
