The SSHBA helps disabled American veterans
who have fought in the War on Terrorism
through the Disabled Patriot Fund.
The Disabled Patriot Fund was founded as a
result of a discussion that took place among
several SSHBA Members at a weekly breakfast
meeting in November of 2004.
This group had discussed a then current news
topic identifying the financial difficulty
being faced by many of our disabled troops
returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.
Collectively, they anted up $600 with the
intent of making a donation to a local VFW
Hall for this purpose. After furthering
their discussion, they decided to do
something of a much greater magnitude
resulting in the creation of the Disabled
Patriot Fund.
